A Spring Orff Workshop

Date: Saturday September 22: 9.30am – 4.00 pm
Venue: St Clair School, 135 Richardson St, St Clair, Dunedin

This movement/music workshop will offer participants the opportunity to engage with Māori legend/story using processes involving dance and music.

Participants will explore ways of integrating the elements of dance from the NZ Curriculum with Maori dance movements associated with haka, poi and waiata ringa. A range of contemporary NZ music will be used to inspire this dance work.

Presenters

Liz Melchior is a dance lecturer in the School of Education at Victoria University of Wellington where she teaches in initial teacher education programmes.

 

 

Priya Gain teaches at Eastern Hutt School as the music/movement specialist and also teaches music alongside Liz in the School od Education at Victoria University of Wellington. Priya is the Wellington ONZA representative and one of the levels educators.
