Workshop Description: Music and movement professional development opportunity for teachers and caregivers of primary-aged children using the Orff approach. Participants will experience creative and holistic music-making using instruments, movement, song and language texts with Aotearoa as our theme.

Christoph Maubach

Christoph Maubach: Christoph was trained at the Carl Orff Institute in Salzburg. Presently he works as freelance music teacher and conducts professional development activities for all levels. In Hamilton Christoph leads the Young Voices at the Hamilton Community Centre for Music, assists with the early childhood music curriculum there and conducts the community choir World Voices. With his imaginative music teaching processes and his positive teaching style he brings a fresh and contemporary note to music for the classroom. Christoph is a musician, arranger and a composer of music for children. His works have been recognized nationally and internationally with audio CD and book materials such as Dancing ‘Round the World, Orff Beats and Step Back Sally published by Bushfire Press in Melbourne. He is also co-creator of the Shenanigans Dance Music for Children CDs. Christoph has been a university lecturer in both Australia and New Zealand and has conducted professional development activities in many countries.
