Primary Teachers Workshop: Songs & Dance From Latin America

Date:  Saturday July  6, 10.00am – 12.00pm
Venue: Kristin School, 360 Albany Highway, Albany, Auckland

This workshop provides activities and ideas assisting teachers with music in the classroom. We will reach within the tradition of storytelling, clapping games and simple folk dances using Colombian music to explore singing, dancing and playing

No previous experience is necessary for involvement in this workshop.

Teachers will be able to take away a range of ideas that can immediately be included in classroom practice.  Download poster HERE

Presenters:

Alex Sanchez holds a B.A. of Music from Universidad  Pedagogica National (Colombia) and a Level III  Certification from the San Francisco International Orff Course. As a member of the ACOLORFF  board, he has taught workshops to music teachers in Bogota and nearby towns. Currently, he works at a private school in Bogota, where he teaches music to preschool children, developing the music process through the Orff approach.

Angela Diaz

Angela has worked in big and small private schools since 2011, successfully using each opportunity to create tailored learning plans to guide each student in the achievement of their own music goals. In her current job as a music teacher and choral conductor, she has worked on developing lesson plans based on Orff proposal and Kodaly methodology.
